Tbilisi Photo Festival is the first international annual photography festival in Georgia co-founded by the Georgian photo curator and journalist Nestan Nijaradze and French photographer Lionel Charrier, currently Photo Editor in chief at the French daily newspaper Liberation. It was first launched in 2010, in partnership with Les Rencontres d’Arles. Since its creation, the festival has become not only the most important photo festival in the region but one of the major annual cultural events in the Caucasus.

Over the past decade, the festival’s identity has been fashioned by the creative ways it uses the medium of photography to reflect on the most challenging issues of our current times. Tbilisi Photo Festival has also firmly established itself as the global hub for international photography at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road, presenting the works of some of the world’s most renowned photographers and the most exciting regional emerging artists as well.

With its 10th edition, Tbilisi Photo Festival has firmly established Tbilisi as capital of photography of the Caucasus.
