Tayeba Begum Lipi

Tayeba Begum Lipi is a multidisciplinary visual artist who lives and works in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Tayeba is the co-founder and trustee of Britto Arts Trust. She has done a number of solo exhibitions and projects in Singapore, Dubai, Istanbul, London, New York, and many other cities. Her major works with artist Mahbubur Rahman, "Artist as Activist" and "Faces of Intimate Strangers", have been exhibited at Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum in Michigan and Modern Art Museum in Shanghai, respectively. Tayeba was one of the major artists of the Bangladesh Pavilion at the 54 Venice Biennale, and as part of Britto Arts Trust, she has participated in documenta fifteen and Kunsthaus Zurich. Tayeba is also included in the "50 Contemporary Women Artists: Ground breaking Contemporary Art from 1960 to Now" publication, edited by John Gosslee and Heather Zises and published by Schiffer Publishing.
