Somer Spat Seed Awards recipient

Somer Spat is a Kosovo-based multidisciplinary artist. His artistic process frequently starts with analyzing present political and social issues, their relation to the forgotten narratives in history, and the roles of dominant ideologies in the public and private context. With a focus on the re-examination of history, archival research is instrumental to Somer's practice and affects his choice of mediums in every project. Somer has participated in several exhibitions in Kosovo and other countries, and has co-founded the YKPRESJE collective, which aims to examine history critically and politicizing it through art.
