Babykilla Seed Awards recipient

babykilla is a Kurdish drag artist based in Istanbul. As a non-binary activist representing the often overlooked Kurdish femme queer/trans embodiment and fighting for Kurdish freedom in general, they started doing drag in a racially privileged Turkish LGBTQ+ community and entertainment scene. They sing, they dance, they use storytelling in their shows and, through their work, they aim to draw attention to racial injustice in Türkiye and to fight for Kurdish femme queer/trans visibility both in the local community and in the whole world.
