Alexis Villanueva Niebles Seed Awards recipient

Alexis Villanueva Niebles is an artist from Colombia based in Barranquilla. He has a BFA degree from the Universidad del Atlantico and attended an artistic residency at the Casero Residencia in Itatiaia, Brazil (2018). In 2020, Alexis was awarded the Creation Grant for Young Artists by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia and participated in the curatorship Imagen Regional 9 carried out by Banco de la Republica and curator Cristo Hoyos. He has been winner of calls, salons, and art biennials, including obtaining first place in the Salon Distrital de Artes Visuales de Barranquilla (2019) and second place in the I Bienal del Atlantico (2017).
