Akoth Jumadi is a researcher, musician and performance artist based in Kenya. Jumadi started playing during her time at Maseno University and started performing in 2018. Her first EP
“Ere Yo” was released in 2020 before which she performed at festivals like Nirvana Festival (2019), and Kilifi New Year (2020). Jumadi is of Luo ancestry and incorporates Indigenous Folk
with Afro-soul, Tribal fusion, Jazz, Taraab, and Benga styles of music. Through her music she is engaged in bringing awareness to Luo culture and hopes to collaborate with other culturallymotivated artists of the region to protect indigenous languages and cultures.
