INTERNSHIP Special Projects
We are looking for an intern who can support our team in 2023. With this placement, you would be joining the Special Projects team of the Fund in a very exciting moment when we conduct five events worldwide in our 2022 Impact Awardees’ countries. The internship’s main focus will be assisting with the organization of the Mobile Labs that will take place throughout the year. The Mobile Labs focus on knowledge production from the Global South, as a shared resource for the future.
The Special Projects team works on initiatives that promote the integration and development of our network, supporting cultural practitioners in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and Eastern Europe, especially where cultural expression is under pressure.
TASKS
The intern will assist all around the Mobile Lab projects. The tasks include:
- Event planning: research the local context, participants, schedule and content.
- Event execution: being in contact with participants regarding travel arrangements and other necessities; content creation for support documents and guides (texts, welcome packages); support with general logistics and operations tasks regarding the events.
- Post-event communication and evaluation of activities.
The intern will also closely assist the team with different tasks within the Special Projects team.
THE QUALITIES & QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an excellent communicator and multi-tasker, with an affinity for culture, arts and social justice issues; excellent organisational skills, and a background in studies of an international character and culture. Experience with event production is a strong advantage. The candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English. Knowledge of other languages (especially Arabic, French, Portuguese and Spanish) is an advantage. Finally, all interns must be computer-proficient.
Ideally we are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team, is looking to take on some responsibility, can combine both in-depth and administrative tasks and is precise, organized, creative, energetic and analytical.

START DATE & DURATION
We are looking for one intern starting from February or March 2023, preferably for 3-6 months and for 2-3 days a week.

Traineeships at the Fund
Additionally to the work experience, the Fund offers interns knowledge by leading staff members who share their expertise and unique insights into working in the cultural sector globally.
Duration & compensation
Internships are usually for 6 months, though 3 months is also possible. Interns are expected to commit 3 days a week to working at the Fund. Knowledge of English is important for all internships. The Prince Claus Fund provides an allowance of €500 gross per month based on a full-time internship (full time = 32hrs). Only currently enrolled students are able to apply. If you are not a student, but would like to be involved in the work of the Fund, you can also apply to be a volunteer. Volunteers receive a maximum net amount of €190 per month including travel costs.
