We are looking for two trainees who can support the implementation of our three Prince Claus Awards. With our new strategy we are strengthening the impact of our support, and focussing on supporting individuals at crucial moments in their creative careers through a sequence of awards. Our redesigned approach provides awards at three different strategic moments in the course of a career, specifically meant to reinforce each stage of development, and promote growth, experimentation and sustainability in creative practices across the globe.

With this placement you would be joining the Programmes team of the Fund and will assist us in scouting for possible award recipients, participating in the selection process, context research on the working countries of the Fund, and providing support in daily administrative tasks.

Trainees closely assist the Programmes team with different tasks ranging from the planning and implementation of open calls for applications, assisting in the nomination and research processes, the organisation of the awards jury meetings as well as administration and logistics of our three Awards.

We are looking for an excellent communicator and multi-tasker, with an affinity for culture, arts and social justice issues; pursuing a BA/BS or MA/MS degree; with good writing skills and a background in studies of an international character and culture. The candidate must be fluent in both spoken and written English (knowledge of other languages is an advantage). Finally, all interns must be computer-proficient.

Ideally we are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team, is looking to take on some responsibility, can combine both in-depth and administrative tasks and is precise, organised, creative, energentic and analytical.

By joining the Programmes team you will gain extensive knowledge about the Fund’s network of outstanding artists, thinkers, cultural organisations and collaborators. The internship provides relevant work experience within an international organisation, and gives a broad range of insights into working in the cultural sector at a global level. Additionally, you will get to contribute to the first cycles of our three Awards.

We are looking for two interns from February 2021, preferably for 6 months and for 3 days a week.

TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION, please send your motivation letter and CV (in English) to [email protected], by the 10th of January 2021. Interviews will take place on the 19th & 20th of January.

Traineeships at the Fund - additional to the work experience the Fund offers interns workshops by leading staff members who share their expertise and unique insights into working in the cultural sector globally.

Duration & compensation - Traineeships (aka internships) are usually for 6 months, though 3 months is also possible. Trainees are expected to commit 3 days a week to working at the Fund. Knowledge of English is important for all internships. The Prince Claus Fund provides an allowance of €250 gross per month based on a full-time internship (full time = 36hrs). Only currently enrolled students are able to apply. If you are not a student, but would like to be involved in the work of the Fund, you can also apply to be a volunteer. Volunteers receive a maximum net amount of €170 per month.

Regulations & policy - The Prince Claus Fund is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants of all backgrounds. Unfortunately we do not sponsor visa applications. We are only able to hire persons with a valid Sofi- or BSN number.
