Marietje Schaake Board Member

Marietje Schaake has been a member of the European Parliament for the Dutch Democratic party D66 since 2009. Her party is attached to the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE), where she acts as coordinator of the International Trade Committee and as spokesman on transatlantic trade and digital commerce. She is also a member of the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee and the Subcommittee on Human Rights. She is the founder of the European Parliamentary Intergroup on the 'Digital Agenda for Europe'. In addition, she is vice-chairman of the delegation for the US, a member of the delegations for Iran and for the Arabian Peninsula.  In 2014, Schaake was selected as 'Young Global Leader' of the World Economic Forum. She is part of the Global Future Council on the Future of Digital Economy and Society. She serves on a number of advisory Boards, including the European Council on foreign relations and the Supervisory Board of Free Press Unlimited.
