Prince Claus Fund Announces New Chair of the Board Ila Kasem

The Prince Claus Fund is pleased to welcome Ila Kasem, managing partner at Van de Bunt Advisors as Chair of the Board. His management experience and enthusiasm for culture is a clear fit with the Prince Claus Fund, which supports culture under pressure around the world. Ila Kasem will assume the position on 6 September 2019, taking over for Henk Pröpper who has served as Chair since 2013.

About Ila Kasem: Ila Kasem (1967) is Managing Partner of Van de Bunt Adviseurs. He currently serves on various NGO Boards. From 2005 to 2014 Kasem served on the supervisory board of WWF The Netherlands and since 2014 he is a member of the Board of Trustees of WWF UK. He is Chair of the Board of Amnesty International Netherlands, Chair of the charity The Morocco Fund, and Chair of Society Impact (an NGO dedicated to the development of links between public and private institutions to promote social impact in The Netherlands). He is also a member of the Supervisory Boards of Het Mauritshuis and of the Giving Back Foundation.
Ila Kasem on culture: “Cultural expression faces many challenges around the world. We see this on the news when a heritage site is attacked or we hear from artists who lack the resources to do their work. It is in these difficult circumstances that the Prince Claus Fund plays an essential role. I look forward to joining in its mission to support culture under pressure. It was an honour to be asked.”

Henk Pröpper is Chair, Patricia Spyer is Vice Chair, Pascal Visée is treasurer, and Clarice Gargard, Nani Jansen Reventlow, Eppo van Nispen tot Sevenaer, Alexander Ribbink, Marietje Schaake, and Lionel Veer are current members of the Board.
