Mobile Lab Senegal Programme in Dakar

The first part of the 2024 Mobile Lab Senegal's programme takes place at Yennenga Center in Dakar between 24–26 May and begins with an official opening ceremony, followed by an open air screening, a concert, and drinks. As part of the programme, there will also be a workshop titled "Faire Cinémathèque(s)"*, alongside screenings and a Mashup Table activity for kids and family. 


24 May 

19:30 – 19:45 (GMT) Opening Night with an Introduction by Alain Gomis and Marcus Desando;

19:45 – 22:00 (GMT) Open-air screening "Tribute to Flora Gomes";

22:00 – End (GMT) Rooftop Concert by Sahad Saar.

25 May 

09:00 – 18:00 (GMT) Restitute African Film Archive Workshop "Faire Cinémathèque"*;

09:00 – 13:00 (GMT) Morning Session: Film Programming Workshop (exclusively for members of the Senegalese Federation of Ciné-Clubs);  

14:30 – 18:00 (GMT) Afternoon Session | Panels Focused on Issues of Film Accessibility, Archives, and Restitution;

19:30 – End (GMT) Open-air screening "Trésors des poubelles" by Samba Felix Ndiaye (Doc, 64’, Senegal, 1989). Film screening will be followed by a discussion.


26 May

14:00 – 15:30 (GMT) Mashup Table Activity for Kids and Family;

15:30 – 14:30 (GMT) Screening of "Vanille" by Guillaume Lorin (Animation, 43’, Guadeloupe, 2020). Film screening will be followed by a discussion and a afternoon snack;

19:30 – End (GMT) Open-air screening of "Baamum Nafi"  by Mamadou Dia (Fiction, 109’, Senegal, 2019). Film screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker and his team.
