Manuel de Rivero

Manuel de Rivero is a distinguished architect, urbanist, and chair of the 2019 Prince Claus Awards Jury. Manuel is the co-founder of 51-1 Arquitectos and Supersudaca. His work has been widely published, and he speaks at international architecture events, including a TED Talk.
Throughout his career, Manuel has earned numerous prestigious accolades. Notably, he received the Bienal de Buenos Aires Award for the Young Latin American Generation for his groundbreaking research on social housing in 2017. Additionally, his design prowess secured him the first prize in the international competition for the extension of the Medellin Museum of Modern Art in Colombia in 2010. Furthermore, his study on the impact of massive tourism in the Caribbean earned him the Best Entry Award at the 2nd International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam in 2005. In 2004, his outstanding research on Lima's experimental housing project (PREVI) earned him the first prize in the 4th Iberoamerican Architecture Biennale.
