Hri Institute Network Partner

The Southasia Trust was established in 1996 with the mission of promoting cultural exchange in the volatile region of South Asia, which has been divided by geopolitics and intercommunity estrangement. The Southasia Trust (SaT) publishes Himal Southasian: South Asia’s first and only regional magazine serving an area that stretches from Afghanistan to Burma, and from Tibet to the Maldives. Over the last ten years, SaT has held meetings, symposia, exhibitions and festivals so as to promote its mission of developing a new concept of South Asian unity. It also organises the Film Southasia Festival of Documentaries (FSA). In addition, SaT has established a separate unit, the Hri Institute for Southasian Research and Exchange. The Institute’s formation is linked to the inadequacy of the purely journalistic approach towards the issues and trends that impact on the subcontinent’s vast population. Period SaT network partner from the 15th of July 2010 till the 14th of July 2013. SaT receives the amount of 180.000 Euros for this period of three years.
