Heba Khalifa

Heba Khalifa is a multimedia artist, photojournalist, painter, and 2015 ADPP Awardee. After graduating from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo with a diploma in Decorative Cinema and Theatre Design, she studied at the High Institute of Art Critics. Heba uses photography as an essential part of her artistic projects, documenting and representing women and gender issues. 

Heba has worked for the prominent Arabic newspaper, Al-Shorouk, since 2008, and together with her photojournalistic work, she dedicates her time to longer-term projects that explore more conceptual issues about women. In 2021, Khalifa also joined the Arab Documentary Photography Programme as a teacher’s assistant.
