Metabolic Modules, Ghost in the Field, Thailand

The Metabolic Modules Project, by the Bangkok-based collective Ghost in the Field, aims to be a pedagogical experiment advocating knowledge as a 'social organism', by examining the body as a site of resistance against technologies of power that seek to regulate forms of knowing, belonging and desiring. Situated in the pressing issues in the context of Thailand, Metabolic Modules endeavours to constitute participants as social agents and potential catalysts towards a future of fair cohabitation.

Building from their fieldwork that began in 2019, the collective will produce five pedagogical modules with the tentative topics of Hunger; Assimilation & Metabolism; Touch & Contact; Lo[ve]gistics; and Queasy & Queer, as well as performances and a final digital publication, aimed at young people in Thailand.
