FavelaNews: The Art of the Self, FavelaNews, Brazil

The project is proposed by the media collective FavelaNews, a group of young actors, writers and filmmakers from the favelas of Recife, and their older mentors. They will produce four short documentaries profiling and celebrating gender non-conforming youths in the favelas. The films will be posted online and shown at festivals, bringing recognition to the young people involved.
