Diary of a Dancer by Dada Masilo

2018 Next Generation Laureate Dada Masilo's story includes segments from her recent choreography "The Sacrifice". Inspired by the complex rhythms of Stravinsky’s "Rites of Spring", the elegant, expressive dances of Botswana, and the movement of small animals, Dada’s dance explores various meanings of ritual and sacrifice.

Originally commissioned and produced by the Prince Claus Fund for its 25th Anniversary Festival: 25 Years 25 Hours.

Dada Masilo

Dancer and choreographer from South Africa, who creates refreshingly reworked classics that incorporate contemporary and classical as well as African moves, sounds and music. Dada's works have been performed in 25 countries and 150 cities worldwide.
