Yola Balanga first began her contact with art within theater and fashion in the city of Luanda, Angola. She is a graduate in Visual and Plastic Arts from the Instituto Superior de Artes. Using art as an element of transcendence, she has presented her works in Madrid and Luanda. Through her work, Yola focuses on issues of gender equality, free expression, and civil society.
