Ornela Alia Seed Awards recipient

Ornela Alia is a visual and performance artist from Albania based in Tirana and a graduate of Dance Politics and Sociology from Roehampton University in London, UK. Her works have been shown in spaces such as eMCe plac (2020, twice) in Slovenia, The Cloud (2019, 2021), and Galeria KALO (2021) in Albania, among others. Most recently she was also part of Bregenz Biennale 2022 which took place in Austria. Supported by her appreciation for pop culture, virtual experiences, and mass-produced objects, her practice involves live, text, and video-based performances and installations. She also strives to create an undefined characterization of belonging and gaining significance from triviality.
