Ling Sheperd is a KhoiKhoi writer based in South Africa. Her work focuses on the Khoi people's culture, history and language. She uses her work to decolonise the history taught of yesteryear, and to elevate first nation communities and their descendants. In 2020, Ling started writing for the Daily Vox; a publication that amplifies the voices of youth. She is determined to use any platform she has to uplift and illuminate marginalised folks in South Africa. In the last three years, she has been studying KhoKhoi history and how it is reflected in modern society.

You can learn more about Ling's work, which focuses on challenging the Khoi identity narratives, and the so-called Coloured identity in such articles, as Coloured Culture, real or imagined?  or I don’t want to call myself Coloured anymore
