Julio Diaz is a Venezuelan-Colombian graphic artist and visual researcher based in Caracas, Venezuela. In 2014, he joined the National School of Popular Graphics, in which he designed and implemented a training program in Visual Communications, aimed at de-commodifying the graphic designer profession. His artistic practice is informed by his experiences with formal
art training and grassroots militancy. He engages in transformative action, collaborating with environmental and gender collectives from Caracas in the production of online and offline art
interventions and campaigns. He is interested in exploring topics such as Venezuelan indigenous mythology, ancestral memories, and the Caracas underground scene.
