Ali Al Shehabi Mentorship Awards recipient

Ali Al Shehabi is a visual artist and photographer from Bahrain whose practice focuses on portraying the contemporary Arab youth culture in the Middle East. The distance from home he lived in Japan and attended Tokyo University of Arts (2017) inspired him to express and document his views and experiences within his own culture. Shehabi's work involves storytelling, soft humour, and a sense of nostalgia as his primary sources of inspiration are personal memories and pictures from his family's photo albums.
