2018 Prince Claus Awards Week Programme

On Wednesday 5 December we will be organising the Cultural Speed Date, Exhibition Opening & Reception, and Louder than Words.  On Thursday 6 December the Prince Claus Awards Ceremony and Awards Dinner will take place. Please note some of these events are open to the public, others are by invitation only.

WEDNESDAY 5 DECEMBER - 2018 CULTURAL SPEED DATE

Every year, the Prince Claus Fund organises a Cultural Speed Date that sparks interaction between professionals in the cultural sector. More than 250 Dutch and international participants meet, build relationships and share ideas. Lunch will be provided.

WEDNESDAY 5 DECEMBER – EXHIBITION OPENING AND RECEPTION

A Sheet of Paper Can Become a Knife brings together works by ten Prince Claus laureates and contemporary artists who are connected by the struggle against violence: Regina José Galindo, David Goldblatt (founder of Market Photo Workshop), FX Harsono, Amar Kanwar, Naiza Khan, Teresa Margolles, Cildo Meireles, Zanele Muholi, Oscar Muñoz and Newsha Tavakolian. The exhibition is curated by Selene Wendt.

WEDNESDAY 5 DECEMBER - LOUDER THAN WORDS

The 2018 Prince Claus laureates will take the stage to share their stories. This event is preceded by a reception with a walking dinner.

THURSDAY 6 DECEMBER - 2018 PRINCE CLAUS AWARDS CEREMONY

The presentation of the 2018 Prince Claus Awards at the Royal Palace, Amsterdam. Prior registration is required.

THURSDAY 6 DECEMBER - AWARDS DINNER

The Prince Claus Awards ceremony is followed by a dinner.

The Prince Claus Awards honour individuals and organisations whose outstanding cultural achievements have a significant impact on development in their societies.
