7.3.2013 Special screening of Forbidden Voices
On Monday 25 March the Prince Claus Fund organises a special screening of the documentary Forbidden Voices at the Movies that Matter Festival in The Hague. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with two of the main characters in the film; bloggers Yoani Sánchez (Cuba) and Farnaz Seifi (Iran), as well as Barbara Miller, the director of Forbidden Voices.
15.2.2013 International premiere of Riding on a Cloud
The international premiere of Riding on a Cloud by 2011 Prince Claus Laureate Rabih Mroué will take place on 5 March 2013 in the Rotterdamse Schouwburg. Riding on a Cloud examines the construction of truth, especially during conflict. The performance is part of the 'Ervaar daar hier Theater' programme and will tour through the Netherlands in March.
7.2.2013 Book Launch 'Liquid Land' by 2011 Prince Claus Laureate...
On 8 February 2013 the latest book 'Liquid Land' by photographer and 2011 Prince Claus Laureate Rena Effendi (Baku, 1977) will be launched at Foam Café Amsterdam. The book launch is organised by the Prince Claus Fund in collaboration with Schilt Publishing. Lars Boering, director of the Dutch Photography Federation will interview Rena Effendi and Foam curator Kim Knoppers will give an introduction.
11.1.2013 2012 Prince Claus Laureate Sami Ben Gharbia in the Netherlands
2012 Prince Claus Laureate Sami Ben Gharbia will be in the Netherlands from 18 to 21 January. Ben Gharbia will participate in 'Winternachten' on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 January in Theater aan 't Spui, The Hague. On Monday 21 January he will speak at a seminar on social media activism organised by the University of Amsterdam.
7.1.2013 Prince Claus Award presented to Teresa Margolles in Mexico
On Sunday 6 January the Dutch Ambassador to Mexico, His Excellency Ambassador Hogewoning presented the 2012 Prince Claus Award to visual artist Teresa Margolles. The ceremony took place at the Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo (MUAC) in Mexico City.
