22.11.2011 Radio Soap Opera in Peru
The Prince Claus Fund is supporting Matias Vega Norell (1978, Lima) for realising a cultural and educational campaign in the Peruvian Amazon through the use of radio soap opera. The soap opera is broadcasted through the radio, the most popular medium of the region. Specifically important to the project is the inclusion of the local population in developing the plotline.
25.10.2011 Music created in Angola in times of war
In 2002 the Angolan Civil War, which was the longest running conflict in the African continent, was formally brought to an end. The war left the country devastated and killed half a million people. 29.9.2011 Dialogue for Peace in Kashmir
For over sixty years the valley of Kashmir has been embroiled in a bitter conflict that does not seem to be anywhere near being resolved. The Prince Claus Funds supports the project Dialogue for Peace that, through the use of art, aims to bridge the existing divide between people living in Kashmir in order to create a better mutual understanding.
9.8.2011 3-Dimensional Virtual Museum in Palestine
On 25 July 2011 the Three-Dimensional Virtual Museum (3DVM) project of the Birzeit University Museum was launched. The project, supported by the Prince Claus Fund, is a 3 dimensional virtual space that presents an interactive representation of the gallery space at the Birzeit University Museum.
15.7.2011 Dancing for peace in Sri Lanka
The Prince Claus Fund supported the two-year SINTAMU Dance Project in Sri Lanka that lasted from June 2009 until June 2011. The project was organised by nATANDA, a bold and energetic non-profit organisation situated in Colombo (Sri Lanka) founded by Kapila Palihawadana, which pushes the boundaries of dance theatre in Sri Lanka.
