ATA, Lima, Peru ALTA TECNOLOGIA ANDINA [ATA] is a private, non-profit cultural organization, created with the objective of helping the development of a new critical and dynamic culture based on the use and growth of the relations between art, science and technology in Latin America. Based in Lima, Peru, the foundations for this development involve the promotion and support of young professionals' projects, without distinctions of creed, class or race, that show capacity, innovation and research vocation. Through this encouragement and support, ATA identifies and shapes individuals – with proved excellence – in the role of activators in every field of human endeavour. These individuals are committed to the use and exploration of technologies, media and culture as they seek to develop areas of communication and dissemination of knowledge to contribute to their societies' development through an understanding of the use of technology in a critical way. Thus, ATA believes in the integration of the social with advances in research, by recognizing that issues such as independence and innovation confer competitive advantages on an international level. ATA’s main concern is in providing support and a platform for the future cultural and artistic training and development of individuals, who are also encouraged to assume complete commitment in activating a new epistemological triad, composed by art, science and technology. They believe it is upon this new epistemology that the 21st century world culture is already developing, and by doing so, pointing to the formation of a new community in Latin America, where participation, provided by the establishment and consolidation of national and global information networks, will define new axes of development.
