Call for students in The Netherlands interested in short-term research assignments while travelling abroad
As part of its monitoring and evaluation strategy the Prince Claus Fund is seeking national or international Master or PhD students/graduates/fellows that are or will be conducting research or travelling to DAC-listed countries, and are willing to carry out research on one Prince Claus Fund supported activity. Recent international graduates returning to their countries are also encouraged.
The Prince Claus Fund would like to learn more about the effects of its past activities, preferably in countries that have been affected by past social upheavals, political repression and conflict; and in areas where cultural heritage has been damaged by disasters.
The students/fellows will be provided with details of the project, specific guidelines and research questions. The most adequate methods for each case are to be worked out together with Prince Claus Fund monitoring and evaluation staff. Together with the staff the researchers will be able to develop their own plan matching as much as possible their own interests. Researchers can also be asked to gather contextual information for a final report on their findings. The assignments are to take place between 2016 and 2017, and are flexible in terms of timing according to an agreed plan based on the scope and conditions.
A short term contractual agreement will be offered to the researcher. The Prince Claus Fund is unable to provide international travel or insurance. Researchers travelling anyway, or already staying in the countries are encouraged to apply. The Prince Claus Fund provides a total fee of €600.00 per assignment (including limited local transportations costs). An advance is facilitated once the plan and budget of the research is developed, and the remaining fee is paid upon receiving the final report.
