Pages Bookstore Café is popping up at the Prince Claus Fund Gallery in Amsterdam starting 12 June 2017. Samer Al-Kadri created the original Pages Bookstore Café in Istanbul as a meeting place and a space for spontaneous events, where displaced Syrians and locals alike could meet and enjoy literature, music, performance and art. Its motto: “Pages, it’s your home.”
At Pages Bookstore Café in Amsterdam you can discover a new book, stop by for a show, join an Open Mic or organise your own event. Have a cup of coffee! Bring the kids! Pages has enjoyed great success bringing people together in Istanbul. Now it hopes to foster understanding between Dutch citizens, Syrian refugees, and everyone who stops by.
Pages Bookstore Café in Amsterdam is a collaboration between founder Samer Al-Kadri, the Prince Claus Fund and the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (AFK).
Doors Open at 18.00, programme starts at 20.00
All Pages events are free and open to everyone
