13.3.2013 Rehabilitating the Qiang tower in A´er
Rain storms starting in late June 2012 affected approximately 17.44 million people in A’er village, China. The top of the traditional thousand years old Qiang tower was broken down by a strike of lightning and part of the base of the tower was severely damaged. A lot of rainwater penetrated the walls of the tower which soaked up the rainwater making the walls extremely fragile and unstable.
13.3.2013 The Third Sex by Belarus Free Theatre
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans(gender), Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) people throughout the world frequently experience discrimination and criticism, if not violence and social exile. In parts of Africa, perceptions of LGBTQI individuals are often negative, leading to socially accepted rape and homophobic attacks.
13.3.2013 Repairing the roof of Al-Fakahani Mosque
To prevent immediate collapse of a part of the roof of the Al-Fakahani Mosque, built centuries ago in the hearth of mediaeval Cairo, CER support emergency interventions until further funding is secured for a full-scale conservation. The Al-Fakahani Mosque is a medium-size structure located on Muizz Liddin Allah Street, the old city’s main thoroughfare.

PUNCTUM is the world’s first pan Asiatic photography magazine. On Thursday 14 March PUNCTUM will be launching their fourth issue as part of Focus Festival Mumbai.
8.3.2013 Tiny Toones Next Generation, Cambodia
Tiny Toones uses break-dancing and hip-hop culture to reach vulnerable young and children in Phnom Penh. Hip-hop is very popular among Cambodian youth, which gives Tiny Toones its unique appeal to some of the most marginalised communities of Phnom Penh, enabling youth at risk to create music and dance instead of slipping into harmful paths.
